Papago Park offers desert trails, sandstone formations and open landscapes in Phoenix.

Hole-in-the-Rock is its most recognizable geological feature, while other routes provide views across the surrounding city and an opportunity to experience Sonoran Desert scenery close to urban neighborhoods.
Choose a designated route and check current trail and gate information before setting out. Exposed paths can become very hot, so bring water and plan around weather and daylight. Nearby Phoenix Zoo and Desert Botanical Garden have separate admissions and opening arrangements; general park access does not include either attraction.
Visitor details reviewed October 27, 2026. Consult primary place information for background, and confirm current access and operating arrangements before visiting. View on OpenStreetMap.
