Phillips Park in Aurora brings a lake, gardens and recreation grounds together in one large municipal destination.

Mastodon Lake Trail, the Sunken Garden and the visitor center give a walk here a different character from a simple neighborhood playground.
Use the city’s park map to choose the area you want to explore. The photograph shows the actual Mastodon Island park setting. The zoo, aquatic center, golf course and seasonal Mastodon Express have their own hours and arrangements; an open park does not mean that all attractions are operating. Check current facility notices and use designated walking routes around the lake.
Visitor details reviewed October 26, 2026. Check official visitor information for current access, admission, and operating arrangements. View on OpenStreetMap.
