- Regional draw
- Charlottesville
The Lawn forms the terraced green center of the University of Virginia’s Academical Village.

Its relationship with surrounding pavilions, colonnades and the Rotunda makes the landscape a significant place for understanding the university’s architectural design.
Explore public outdoor areas respectfully and remember that surrounding rooms include occupied residences and working university spaces. Interior tours and access to individual buildings have separate arrangements. Read interpretation that considers the people who built and sustained the university as well as its designers. Academic events and ceremonies can affect access, so follow current campus notices.
