About Slatterly Park
Slatterly Park stretches from Third Avenue SE toward its namesake park in southeast Rochester. Housing examples include income-restricted Village on Third and The Beacon, part of a furnished-rental portfolio. A playground, basketball and pickleball courts offer reasons to stay close to home; Eighth Avenue buses connect to downtown, with hourly evening and weekend service and an early last weekend departure.
Slatterly Park and the Third Avenue side
Slatterly Park includes the area around the park on 11th Avenue SE and extends west toward Third Avenue SE. Village on Third, at 510 Third Avenue SE, and The Beacon, at 431 Third Avenue SE, are two rental examples on that western side.
Income-restricted apartments and furnished stays
Village on Third lists one-bedroom apartments of 655 square feet, two-bedroom layouts of 916–974 square feet and three-bedroom layouts of 1,120 square feet. The two- and three-bedroom layouts have two bathrooms. Managing company Velair states that income restrictions apply; the public pages do not specify household income limits or a minimum lease term.
The property includes heat, water, sewer and trash in the rent; residents pay electricity and internet separately. It also lists heated underground parking at no extra charge and shared laundry facilities. The listed floor plans do not establish current availability.
The Beacon, at 431 Third Avenue SE, is a furnished-rental example in Resident Property Management’s portfolio. The operator advertises short- and long-term stays with flexible leases, Wi-Fi and utilities included across its portfolio. Its public pages do not give a Beacon-specific minimum stay or eligibility rules, and parking is included only at select properties.
Playground afternoons and court games
Slatterly Park offers a simple local outing: playground time or a game of basketball or pickleball. Rochester Parks & Recreation records the playground replacement in 2023 and installation of a basketball court and two pickleball courts in 2024.
A downtown bus trip, with limited evening returns
Route 205 links Eighth Avenue SE at Sixth Street SE with the Rochester Public Library on Second Street SE and Central Park downtown on weekdays. It runs every 30 minutes at peak times and hourly off peak. The Sixth Street timepoint is seven minutes from the library on the first listed morning trip, making a book pickup a possible bus outing; this is scheduled bus time, without the walk to the stop or waiting.
Evening and weekend trips use Route 22, an hourly loop through Cub Foods on 15th Avenue SE and Mayo High School before reaching Eighth Avenue at Sixth Street. The last listed weekday-evening departure from Central Park is 9:15 p.m.; the last weekend/holiday departure is 5:15 p.m. Weekend buses therefore will not bring you home from a late downtown dinner. Central Park departures use stand 5 for Route 22 and stand 4 for Route 205.
How winter street parking changes overnight
Rochester’s alternate-side parking period runs from November 1 to April 1, between 2 a.m. and 3 p.m. On even calendar dates, vehicles park beside even-numbered houses; on odd dates, beside odd-numbered houses. An overnight parking choice therefore needs to follow the date after midnight.
The alternate-side requirement does not apply where parking is allowed on only one side, or to metered spaces. Posted signs still apply. Included garage parking at Village on Third gives residents an off-street alternative to the changing curbside schedule.
