Sugar House combines apartments around the 2100 South business district with Sprague Library, the S-Line corridor and the lawns and paths of Sugar House Park. The streetcar currently ends at Fairmont; construction toward Highland Drive is a future connection, with access changes affecting nearby streets in fall 2026.
Apartments near 2100 South
Sugar House Apartments by Urbana lists studios, one-bedroom and two-bedroom homes at 2057 South 1200 East. Its published features include washers and dryers, elevators, a carport and a controlled-access garage. Leasing contact is 833-568-0048.
The property’s pet policy allows up to two pets, each up to 65 pounds, with a $300 one-time fee and $35 pet rent per pet. For a two-pet household, that is $600 in one-time fees and $70 in recurring pet rent, in addition to the apartment’s other charges. These are one building’s terms, rather than neighborhood-wide rental costs.
Fairmont now, Highland Drive later
The S-Line’s existing eastern terminus is Fairmont at 1040 East. UTA’s April 2026 extension fact sheet places a future station near Highland Drive and Simpson Avenue, with service planned for fall 2027. The new stop is not part of the current service.
UTA’s construction notice checked October 20, 2026 lists intermittent overnight Highland Drive closures, 10 p.m.–5 a.m., and an approximately six-week Simpson Avenue closure between 1100 East and Highland beginning as early as October 12. The S-Line is intended to keep operating during construction, with possible brief interruptions. The linked disruption page carries changing access and service notices.
Sugar House Park through the seasons
Sugar House Park is at 1330 East 2100 South, between 1300 and 1700 East north of I-80. The Park Authority lists opening hours of 7 a.m.–10 p.m. in May–October and 7 a.m.–9 p.m. in November–April. Dogs must remain on leash.
The county describes a 1.38-mile park road with a 16-foot inside pedestrian lane, access to Parley’s Trail, two playgrounds and athletic areas. Pavilion reservations run through Salt Lake County; its page gives March 1, 2027 as the opening date for 2027 reservations. The park entrance photograph on this page is dated April 2021.
Sprague Library on 1100 East
Sprague Branch Library is at 2131 South 1100 East, with free parking east and south of the building and Wi-Fi throughout. Its hours are 10 a.m.–8 p.m. Monday–Thursday and 10 a.m.–6 p.m. Friday–Saturday; it is closed Sunday. The branch number is 801-594-8640.
