About Clark Park

Clark Park is a west-central Tempe neighborhood with a park, community center and year-round heated pool along Roosevelt Street north of Broadway Road. The outdoor park, center building and swimming sessions have different hours. Classes, book borrowing and reservable rooms add everyday uses beyond the playground and sports courts.

Residential blocks and recreation along Roosevelt Street

Clark Park is one of the neighborhood associations listed by the city. Its namesake park is at 19th Street and Roosevelt Street, north of Broadway Road; the neighborhood profile covers the surrounding residential area.

The city lists park hours of 6 a.m.–10 p.m. Outdoor facilities include a playground, dog park, basketball and volleyball courts, a ballfield and picnic ramadas. These grounds hours are separate from access to the community-center building and pool.

Evening classes and a staffed community center

Clark Park Community Center is at 1730 South Roosevelt Street. Its front desk is 480-350-5208, with email at clarkinfo@tempe.gov. Building hours are Monday–Thursday, 8:30 a.m.–9 p.m., and Friday–Saturday, 8:30 a.m.–5 p.m.; Sundays are closed.

The center publishes quarterly activities including fitness, martial arts, childhood education, crochet and yoga. Its registration and newsletter links provide the current quarterly choices.

Swimming uses its own timetable and admission

The outdoor heated pool operates year-round, with zero-depth entry, splash-play features, a spiral slide and five lap lanes. Open-swim, lap-swim and water-fitness sessions have their own schedules on the city’s pool page.

Published general pool admission is free for children under 2, 75 cents for ages 2–12 and $1.25 for ages 13 and older. Purchase admission at the center’s front desk, then enter through the locker rooms. Water-fitness classes have separate fees.

Borrow books or request a room for a gathering

The center’s small library lends Tempe Public Library books for three weeks through the front desk. Four classrooms are also available for public room-reservation requests; send the city’s application to clarkinfo@tempe.gov.

Parking is available south and east of the community center, with another lot at the park’s northwest corner.
