Sherman Oaks spans Ventura Boulevard rental options, residential streets farther north and homes rising toward the southern hills. Ventura/Van Nuys and Ventura/Sepulveda are useful transport reference points, but they serve different journeys. Moorpark Street’s library and the Riverside Drive farmers market add separate destinations to the weekly routine.
The buildings below illustrate rental features rather than typical neighborhood prices or current vacancies. Operator information and schedules were reviewed October 20, 2026. Existing citywide rental and transport guides remain linked at the end for the wider rules and network.
Shared laundry versus selected apartments with machines
Mark Twain Apartments at 4251 Fulton Avenue lists a shared laundry facility, central air and heating, an elevator and gated, assigned garage parking. Its apartment features include a dishwasher and gas range. A household wanting a washer inside the home should distinguish this shared facility from an in-home appliance listing.
Mark Twain’s published pet policy allows up to two cats; the listing does not describe a dog policy. Leasing contact is 844-674-0992. Its gated garage and shared laundry are building facilities, so the particular apartment’s parking assignment and laundry access belong in the viewing conversation.
Regency at Sherman Oaks at 4616 Willis Avenue lists both laundry facilities and washers/dryers available only in selected apartments. Covered parking, a garage, elevators, fitness facilities and a heated pool are listed community features. The offered unit therefore determines whether this is an in-home-laundry option.
Regency publishes a maximum of two pets, with breed and size restrictions and a dog limit of less than 25 pounds. Its contact is 818-658-2997. For a household moving with a dog or needing in-home laundry, those two requirements narrow the relevant apartment choices before a viewing.
Westwood and the pass: use the right route and trip
Metro Line 761 links the Van Nuys corridor with Sherman Oaks Galleria, the Sepulveda Pass, UCLA/Westwood and Sepulveda E Line station. Its map also identifies Van Nuys G Line station farther north. It is a useful starting route for a Westwood destination; the G Line itself is a busway connection rather than a subway in Sherman Oaks.
Line 233 runs the Van Nuys Boulevard corridor, but its timetable’s Westwood and Sepulveda E Line columns are served mainly by late-night and early-morning trips. Most daytime rows end the southbound service at the Sherman Oaks timepoint. Selecting a bus only from its broad route description could therefore miss the Westside leg. Read the served columns for the particular departure.
For Ventura Boulevard trips toward Studio City and the B Line, Line 240 has a Ventura/Van Nuys timepoint and reaches Universal City/Studio City station. This east–west corridor differs from the pass crossing on Line 761. Both directions and separate day schedules appear in the linked timetables.
A Tuesday afternoon market on Riverside Drive
The market operator’s directory lists Sherman Oaks Farmers Market at 14006 Riverside Drive on Tuesdays, 2–6 p.m. It is an afternoon shopping window rather than a weekend market. A household finishing work after 6 p.m. will need another grocery stop that day; someone available earlier can build it into the Riverside Drive part of their routine.
Moorpark Street library: four weekday evenings
The Sherman Oaks Martin Pollard Branch Library is at 14245 Moorpark Street, with a parking lot and bicycle rack. The LAPL branch page lists regular closing at 8 p.m. Monday–Thursday and 5:30 p.m. Friday–Saturday; Sunday is closed.
Monday and Wednesday opening is 10 a.m., Tuesday and Thursday noon, and Friday and Saturday 9:30 a.m. The branch phone is 818-205-9716. The different opening times matter for a morning errand, while Monday–Thursday offer the regular after-work window. Public computers, wireless printing and Wi-Fi are listed services, with Russian and Spanish collections. Its event calendar supplies dates and registration arrangements for programs.
