The Central Railroad of New Jersey Terminal preserves a major chapter of Jersey City's rail, ferry, and immigration history at Liberty State Park.

The 1889 waterfront building once connected arriving passengers and commuters with trains and Manhattan ferries. Its red-brick frontage and clock tower remain a distinctive landmark facing the harbor.
Start with the public terminal areas and check the state park's current information for history programs or tours. Interior visiting hours differ from general park access, and terminal-plaza construction can change pedestrian approaches. A visit to the building does not include a ferry trip to Ellis Island or the Statue of Liberty.
