Liberty State Park gives Jersey City's Hudson River waterfront room to breathe, with open lawns, walking paths, picnic areas, and views toward the Statue of Liberty, Ellis Island, and Lower Manhattan.

Its former rail and ferry landscape remains visible around the historic Central Railroad of New Jersey Terminal, while waterfront paths connect several places to stop and explore.
Choose a section of the park before setting out, since the terminal, science center, and southern picnic areas are spread apart. Revitalization work is underway, including the terminal plaza, so check current access notices and marked routes. Island ferry tickets and science-center admission are separate arrangements from a park visit.
Visitor details reviewed October 18, 2026. Check official visitor information for current access, admission, and operating arrangements. View on OpenStreetMap.
