Old Riverview Historic District preserves part of Capitola’s historic village landscape near the river.

Craftsman influences and buildings associated with settlement and recreation reflect the community’s growth as a coastal destination during the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries.
The photograph shows an actual street corner in the district. Use National Register boundaries around Riverview Avenue, Riverview Drive, Capitola Avenue and adjoining streets for an exterior walk. Public streets do not make private riverfront yards or residential decks accessible. Shops have independent hours. Follow current pedestrian directions and check conditions near river crossings before extending your visit toward the waterfront.
Visitor details reviewed October 26, 2026. Check official visitor information for current access, admission, and operating arrangements. View on OpenStreetMap.
