Homes between College and Ridgway Avenues

Ridgway occupies the residential area bounded by College Avenue, Ridgway Avenue, Mendocino Avenue and US 101. The City identifies modest 1920s houses, later homes from the 1930s through the 1950s, and Spanish or Mission Revival examples in the northeast. Its historical account also records larger houses converted to multiple living units.

Lap swimming near Ridgway Avenue

Ridgway Swim Center is nearby at 455 Ridgway Avenue, just outside the mapped district. On October 25, 2026, the City’s Ridgway-specific lap-swim tab lists daily hours of 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. The posted drop-in price is $7, or $6 for adults aged 55 and over and disabled swimmers.

The monthly lap-swim pass requires a separate Aquatic Membership; the City lists the pass at $70 for general admission and $60 for the reduced-price group, valid for 30 days at both municipal pools, including closure days. These are lap-swim arrangements, not recreation-swim or lesson hours.

Mendocino Avenue buses

CityBus Route 1 follows the Mendocino corridor on Ridgway’s eastern side. The currently linked timetable connects the downtown Transit Mall with the Mendocino/Pacific stop by Santa Rosa Junior College, Kaiser and Coddingtown. It provides separate weekday, Saturday and Sunday tables.

Work on a historic home

For homes within the designated preservation district, exterior alterations can involve historic review as well as ordinary construction permits. Santa Rosa’s preservation page links the district map and project exemptions. Its review examples include replacement windows, additions and fences; the property’s designation and the scope of work determine the applicable process.
