Lake Superior Maritime Visitor Center interprets Great Lakes shipping beside Duluth’s ship canal.

Exhibits connect the vessels moving through the harbor with navigation, engineering and the people whose work keeps lake commerce operating.
Allow time to combine the indoor interpretation with watching the canal from designated public areas outside. Ship movements are working-port operations rather than a fixed visitor show, so sightings cannot be guaranteed. Check the center’s current hours and program information before arriving, and follow posted waterfront guidance while observing traffic near the Aerial Lift Bridge.
Visitor details reviewed October 18, 2026. Check official visitor information for current access, admission, and operating arrangements. View on OpenStreetMap.
