About Terrace Park
Terrace Park’s neighborhood surrounds a historic public park with Covell Lake, the Japanese Gardens and a bandshell. The park’s public spaces, reservable shelters and outdoor aquatic facility have different uses and schedules.
Lake access and gardens at West 4th Street
Terrace Park is at 1100 West 4th Street. The City lists fishing access, an accessible walking trail, Shoto-Teien Japanese Gardens, a bandshell, playgrounds and the Frank L. Boyce Miracle League ballfield. Its neighborhood account dates the park’s National Register listing to 2015; that is a designation of the park, not a statement that every nearby home has the same status.
West and upper shelters have different sizes
The park page links to online shelter reservations. It lists accessible shelters with electricity: the west shelter is 25 by 40 feet and the upper shelter is 20 by 30 feet. Restrooms and drinking fountains are also listed. These named shelters are separate from booking the park’s wedding venue.
Outdoor swimming follows its own season
The Terrace Park Family Aquatic Facility is an outdoor pool facility within the park. The City’s admission information describes outdoor aquatic seasons as generally May–August, with annual dates set by Parks and Recreation. The summer swim pass runs May 1–Labor Day, while actual outdoor opening dates are set separately each year.
